Present continuous
말하는 시점, 혹은 그 근처에서 일어난 일에 대하여 사용.
상황이 아직 끝나지 않았다.

• The water is boiling. Could you turn it off?
  물이 끊고 있다. 불좀 꺼줄래요?
• Listen to those people. What language are they speaking?
  저 사람들의 말을 들어봐, 그들이 무슨 언어로 말하고 있지?
• Let's go out. It isn't raining now.
  나가자. 지금 비가 오고있지 않아.
• A: Don't disturb me. I'm busy.
  A: 귀찮게 하지마. 바빠.
• B: Why? What are you doing?
  B: 왜? 뭐하는데?
• I'm going to bed now. Good night.
  이제 잘거야. 잘자.
• Maria is in Vancouver now. She's learning English.
  마리아는 지금 벤쿠버야. 그녀는 영어를 배우고 있어.

임시적인 상황에 사용.

  오늘 열심히 일하네? 맞아 일이 많아.

Present Continuous[Unit1]

Present simple
일반적 또는 상황이 반복되는 일에 대하여 사용.

예문) 해석참고용

• Water boils at 100 degree Celsius.
  물은 100도씨에서 끊는다.
• Excuse me, do you speak English?
  실례합니다, 영어할 줄 아나요?
• It doesn't rain very much in the summer.
  여름에는 비가 엄청 많이 오지 않습니다.
• What do you usually do on weekends?
  주말에 보통 무엇을 해?
• What do you do? (=What's your job?)
  직업이 뭔가요?
• I always go to bed before midnight.
  나는 항상 자정이 되기 전에 잠들어.
• Most people learn to swim when they are children.
  대부분의 사람들은 아이일때 수영을 배운다.

영구적인 상황에 사용.

• My parents live in Boston. They have lived there all their all their lives.
  내 부모님은 보스턴에 살고있다. 그들은 그곳에서 평생을 살아왔다.
• Joe isn't lazy. He works hard most of the time.
  조는 게으르지 않다. 그는 대부분의 시간을 열심히 일한다.

Simple Present[Unit2]

I always do and I'm always doing
I always do(something) = I do it every time.

예문) 해석참고용

• I always go to work by car. (not I'm always going)
  항상 차로 출근한다.

I'm always doing something has a different meaning.

예문) 해석참고용

• I've lost my phone again. I'm always losing things.
  또 폰을 잃어버렸어. 나는 항상 잃어버린다.

I'm always losing things = I lose things very often,
perhaps too often, or more often than normal.
Something이 자주 벌어지나,
화자가 생각하는 것보다 더 많이 벌어지는 상황일때 사용.

• You're always playing computer games.
  넌 맨날 컴퓨터 게임만 한다.
  You should do something more active.
  활동적인 뭔가 좀 해.
  (= You play computer games too often)
• Tim is never satisfied.
  팀은 전혀 만족하지 않는다.
  He's always complaining.
  그는 맨날 불평만 해.
  (= He complains too much)
