Present perfect and past 1
(I have done and I did)

The present perfect (something has happened) is a present tense.
present perfect는 현재에 대한 내용이다.
It always tells us about the situation now.
그것은 우리에게 항상 지금의 상황에 대하여 이야기한다.

Tom has lost key = he doesn't have his key now.
톰은 열쇠를 잃어버렸어 = 그는 열쇠를 현재 잃어버렸다.

The past simple (something happened) tells us only about the past.
past simple은 과거에 대한 내용이다.

If somebody says Tom lost his key,
만약 누군가가 톰이 열쇠를 잃어버렸다고 말하면,
this doesn't tell us whether he has the key now or not.
그건 그가 열쇠를 현재 가지고 있는지 아닌지에 대하여는 언급이 없는거다.
It tells us only that he lost his key at some time in the past.
그건 과거에 어느시점에 그가 열쇠를 잃어버린것에 대한 언급만 있는것이다.

Do not use the present perfect if the situation not is different.

• They've gone away. They'll be back on Friday. (they are away now)
  그들은 떠났다. 금요일날 돌아올 것이다.
• They went away, but I think they're back at home now. (not They've gone)
  그들은 떠났다. 그러나 내 생각에는 지금 집에 돌아왔을 거야.
• It has stopped raining now, so we don't need the umbrella. (it isn't raining now)
  지금 비가 그쳤어. 그래서 우리는 우산이 필요없어.
• It stopped raining for a while, but now it's raining again. (not It has stopped)
  잠시동안 비가 그쳤어, 그러나 지금은 다시 비가와.

You can use the present perfect for new or recent happenings.
present perfect는 새로운 혹은 최근일에 사용.

예문) 해석참고용

• I've repaired the washing machine. It's working OK now. Oh, that's good.
  나는 세척기를 수리했어. 지금도 멀쩡해. 오 좋아.
• Sally has had a baby! It's a boy. That's great news.
  샐리는 아이를 가졌어. 아들이야. 좋은소식이야.

Usually, you can also use the past simple.
보통은 past simple도 사용.

• I repaired the washing machine. It's working OK now.
  나는 세척기를 수리했어. 그건 지금도 멀쩡해.

Use the past simple (not the present perfect) for things that are not recent or new.
past simple은 현재와 상관없는 일에 사용.

• Mozart was a composer. He wrote more than 600 pieces of music.
  모짜르트는 작곡가였다. 그는 600개가 넘는 음악을 썼다.
  (not has been ... has written)
• My mother grew up in Italy. (not has grown)
  엄마는 이탈리아에서 자랐다.
