(I'm) going to (do)

I'm going to do something = I have already decided to do it, I intend to do it.
I'm going to do something은 나는 이미 그걸 하기로 결정했고, 할 의도가 있다.

• Are you going to eat anything? No, I'm not hungry.
  너 아무것도 안먹을거야? 응 나는 배고프지 않아.
• A: I hear Sarah has won some money. What is she going to do with it?
  A: 나는 사라가 돈을 얻었다고 들었어. 그녀는 뭐할거래?
• B: She's going to buy a new car.
  B: 그녀는 새 차를 살거야.
• I'm just going to make a quick phone call. Can you wait for me?
  금방 전화 한통만 할거야. 나 기다려 줄 수 있어?
• This cheese smells horrible. I'm not going to eat it.
  그 치즈 냄새는 끔찍해. 나는 먹지 않을거야.

I'm doing and I am going to do.

We use I am doing(present continuous) when we say what we have arranged to do.
우리는 하기로 예정되어있는 일을 말할때 I'm doing을 사용한다.
- for example, arranged to meet somebody, arranged to go somewhere.
- 가령 누군가를 만난다던지, 어디로 간다던지.

예문) 해석참고용

• What time are you meeting Ann this evening?
  안을 저녁 몇시에 만날거야?
• I'm leaving tomorrow. I've got my plane ticket.
  나는 내일 떠나. 티켓은을 가지고 있어.

I'm going to do something = I've decided to do it. (but perhaps not arranged to do it)
I'm going to do something은 이미 그걸 하기로 결정했다. (하지만 아마도 예정은 없다.)

예문) 해석참고용

• Your shoes are dirty. Yes, I know. I'm going to clean them.
  너 신발이 더러워. 응, 나도 알아. 난 그걸 닦으러 갈거야.
  (= I've decided to clean them, but I haven't arranged to clean them)
  (= 나는 그것을 닦기로 결심했다, 그러나 나는 닦을 예정은 없었다.)
• I've decided not to stay here any longer.
  나는 더이상 이곳에 머무르지 않기로 결심했다.
  Tomorrow I'm going to look for somewhere else to stay.
  내일 어딘가로 갈거야 다른곳에 머물기 위해서.

Often the difference is very small and either form is possible.
둘의 차이는 미묘하고 둘다 혼용이 가능하다.

You can also say that ~something is going to happen' in the future. 
또한 something is going to happen을 미래상황에서도 사용.
For example:

• The man isn't looking where he is going.
  그 남자는 가야할곳을 보는중이 아니다.
• He is going to walk into the wall.
  그는 그 벽에 부딪힐 것이다.

When we say that something is going to happen, the situation now makes this clear.
something is going to happen을 말할때, 그 상황을 분명하게 만든다.

The man is walking towards the wall now,
그 남자는 벽쪽으로 전방을 향하여 가는중이다. 
so we can see that he is going to walk into it.
그래서 우리는 그가 그리로 가는중인것 을 볼 수 있다.

• Look at those black clouds! It's going to rain. (the clouds are there now)
  저 먹구름을 봐! 곧 비가 올거야. (저기에 구름이 있다.)
• I feel terrible. I think I'm going to be sick. (I feel terrible now)
  내 기분은 별로야. 내 생각에는 아플거 같아.
• The economic situation is bad now and things are going to get worse.
  그 경제상황은 지금 나쁘고 점점 않좋아질것이다.

I was going to do something = I intended to do it, but didn't do it.
I was going to do something은 나는 그것을 의도했었지만 하지는 않았었다.

예문) 해석참고용

• We were going to travel by train, but then we decided to go by car instead.
  우리는 기차로 여행을 가려고 했지만 대신 자동차로 가기로 결정했었다.
• Peter was going to do the exam, but he changed his mind.
  피터는 시험을 보려 했지만 그는 마음을 바꿨었다.
• I was just going to cross the road when somebody shouted "Stop!"
  누군가가 "Stop!" 외칠때, 나는 그 길을 건너려 했었다.

You can say that something was going to happen (but didn't happen)
발생할 수 있었던 상황이었지만 발생하지 않을때도 사용할 수 있다.

• I thought it was going to rain, but it didn't.
  내 생각에는 비가 올것같았는데, 그러지 않았다.
